Traditional juice processing technology included selection, cleaning, grinding, crushing, hydrolysis, filtration (including coarse filtration and finishing) and concentration. Although traditional diatomaceous and centrifugal filter can ensure the clarity of the filtrate, it is difficult to filter out bacteria micro-organisms. The product shelflife is not long, and the product yield is low, operating costs are high. Also, during the filtration process, filter aids and clarifying agents need to be added at the same time. The process is complicated with large consumption of raw materials. Applying tubular membrane to juice clarification can easily remove the bacteria which may cause juice deterioration, pectin, crude protein. The filtered juice quality is much more better, aromatic ingredients and nutrients are retained. The tubular membrane has been gradually showing its advantages in juice filtration.
