Application Overview


Ion exchange resin used for a period time in exchange process, the adsorption of impurities close to saturation, need to be regenerate by lye. Depends on the elution time when passing regeneration column, the color of the lye is varies from light to dark , the main ingredient is 3%-5%NaOH (containing some organic pigments and small molecules, etc.). There was no suitable pretreatment process before the lye entering the nanofiltration membrane system, resulting in attenuated flux. The membrane flux is difficult to recover after cleaning, can only be changed by shortening the membrane production cycle to meet the requirements. Also, the NF membrane is too expensive, which directly lead to a substantial increase in production costs.


When applying the special tubular membrane to pretreatment process for NF system, waste alkali first flow through the 10000 Dalton UF tubular membranes. The suspended particles and some small molecular impurities are retained. Then, the permeate flow through the NF system. This application greatly improves the service life and the flux of nanofiltration membranes, ensures the equipment’s efficiency,  stability and long-term operation.
